Filetoshared - Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2014, is the latest edition of Kaspersky's core anti-malware tool. The program offers new protection against screen lockers (malware which locks your system and demands a fee to release it), while the anti-phishing module has been improved and updated. A stronger focus on performance brings some welcome benefits. The program starts more quickly; GUI performance has been improved; resource use is down; and the system switches to a new "limited activity" mode when your PC is idle, so reducing its workload and helping to extend battery life.
The program has been simplified in various ways. The interface is optimised, with touch screen support; application reports are "simpler and more obvious", apparently; and configuration now only allows "frequently used application settings" to be customised. (We're not entirely sure about that - being able to adjust every aspect of a security tool has always seemed like a good thing, to us - but time will tell whether we've lost anything important.)
